How to Slash Costs BIG on Your Next Marketing Campaign?
I accidentally discovered a strategy that could save you thousands, no exaggeration.
In this quick read, you’ll get that "aha" moment.
The Original Plan: U.S. Vinyl Sticker Campaign
I launched a marketing campaign in the U.S. with a simple idea: print stickers and spread them around Cleveland.
I ordered 1,000 stickers from a local printing center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Did it go as planned? Well, that’s a story for another time...
Here's what it cost to order 1,000 stickers in Ohio...
I paid a total of $183.31 for 1,000 vinyl stickers.
The plan was to ship these stickers to a friend in Cleveland, who would handle the distribution.
It seemed like a solid strategy, especially since I’m based in Istanbul.
But then, I had a lightbulb moment: what if I printed the stickers right here in Istanbul instead?
Turkey’s printing industry is known for being both affordable and high-quality.
So, I reached out to a local printing center, and the results were eye-opening:
Cost for 1,000 Stickers: 400 TRY ($11.89)
Shipping to Ohio handled by PTT (Post and Telegraph Organization in Turkey): Without Tracking: $3, with Tracking: $10
Total Cost: $21.89
That’s an 88% savings compared to what I spent in Cleveland.
Scaling Up: The Bigger Picture
Let’s say a business spends $5,000 on stickers in the U.S.
Using the same approach, printing in Turkey could slash that cost to $600, a potential savings of $4,400.
Now, even though different printing centers may offer varying prices, you could conservatively save around 75%.
Imagine scaling this up to a $100,000 marketing budget. The savings could be as much as $75,000.
And this isn’t just theory. It’s backed by real numbers that can seriously boost your bottom line.
A Global Perspective: Think Beyond Borders
The global printing market was worth $180 billion in 2023.
Emerging markets, like Turkey, are playing a big role. Turkey alone is part of a $5 billion printing market in the MENA region.
With today’s logistics and digital tools, working with international suppliers is easier than ever.
They offer competitive pricing and high-quality products.
Many have English-speaking teams and websites. They’re fully equipped to handle global orders. It’s a game-changer for U.S. companies.
This cost-saving strategy can be a foundation for a new business model.
U.S.-based companies could offer printing services, leveraging global suppliers to deliver up to 80% savings to their clients. It's a win-win: lower costs for customers and higher profits for the businesses.
